Privacy Policy

Your data, your call. We don't sell it, mine it, or share it with advertisers.

The short version

  • HUTLzone does not sell your personal information to third parties.
  • We do not run third-party ad-tracking pixels or share your data with data brokers.
  • We only collect what's needed to run the app for you.
  • You control who can find, follow, message, or engage with you — flip any setting in Settings → Privacy.
  • You can delete your account and your personal data at any time.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what's necessary to operate HUTLzone:

  • Account information you provide — username, display name, email address, hashed password, and any optional profile details (bio, avatar, cover image, music, status, theme).
  • Content you create — posts, stories, reels, comments, messages, marketplace listings, uploaded photos, videos, and audio.
  • Device and technical data automatically received when you use the app: device identifiers, browser type and version, operating system, app version, language, and coarse IP address. This is used only to keep the service secure, prevent abuse, diagnose issues, and satisfy legal record-keeping obligations.
  • Usage signals strictly necessary to run features you interact with (e.g., which post you liked, which conversation you opened). We do not use this data to build advertising profiles.
  • Payment data for paid features is processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not receive or store full card numbers.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To run the app — sign you in, deliver posts and messages, display your profile, process payments for HUTLzone, Business, and ad features.
  • To keep the service safe — prevent spam, fraud, abuse, harassment, and account takeovers; enforce our Terms; comply with legal obligations; and respond to reports and law-enforcement requests.
  • To improve features — aggregate, non-identifying analytics about which features work well and which crash.
  • To communicate with you — transactional emails (sign-in, password reset, receipts, safety alerts). We do not send behavioral marketing based on the content you post.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

We share information only in these limited situations:

  • Content you choose to publish — public posts, reels, comments, and marketplace listings are visible to other users as you have configured.
  • Essential service providers ("processors") that host, secure, or operate the platform on our behalf under written data-processing agreements. Current providers include cloud infrastructure and database hosting (Supabase / AWS), our payments processor (Stripe), and our email delivery provider. These processors may only use your data to provide services to HUTLzone and are contractually prohibited from selling it.
  • Legal or safety reasons — to comply with a valid legal process, respond to a lawful government request, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, property, or safety of HUTLzone, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers — if HUTLzone is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.

4. Your Choices and Controls

You decide who can find, follow, message, and react to you. In Settings → Privacy you can:

  • Switch your account to private, so only approved friends see your posts.
  • Hide yourself from search and suggestions.
  • Turn online status on or off.
  • Allow or block direct messages.
  • Allow or block likes, comments, and shares on your posts and profile photo.

5. Your Rights (Including Deletion)

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information from your Settings page.
  • Delete individual pieces of content at any time from your profile or feed.
  • Delete your entire account — open Settings → Account → Delete account, or email privacy@hutlzone.app from your account address. Deletion removes your profile, posts, messages, and uploaded media from HUTLzone within 30 days, except (a) content already shared with other users may remain visible to those recipients, and (b) copies may persist in encrypted backups for a commercially reasonable period before permanent erasure, or as required by law.
  • Object to or restrict processing, and to data portability, where required by applicable law (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA).
  • Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

California residents: you have the specific rights to know, delete, correct, and limit the use of sensitive personal information under the CCPA/CPRA. We do not sell or "share" your personal information as those terms are defined by California law.

6. Children's Privacy

HUTLzone is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with information, contact privacy@hutlzone.app and we will delete it. Where required by state law, minors under the age of majority use HUTLzone only with verifiable parental consent.

7. Data Retention

We retain your information only as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete content or your account, we begin the deletion process described in Section 5.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures — encryption in transit (HTTPS), encryption at rest for stored data, hashed passwords, and role-based access controls — to protect your information. No online service can be 100% secure; report any suspected vulnerability to security@hutlzone.app.

9. International Transfers

HUTLzone is operated from the United States. If you access it from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. under safeguards required by applicable law.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email at least 7 days before taking effect.
